What Brooke has had to say...

...on So, Making Fun Of The People You're Trying To Sell? Yeah, Bad Idea.:
18:57, November 19th, 2008: It is a bit snarky. We have to keep in mind though that Mom's with babies are often sleep deprived, hormonal, and in general a little edgy...which may account for the rampant outcry over the commercial.

...on Social Marketing Gone Bad. :
18:21, October 20th, 2008: Blogging and social networking can be a valuable tool for some businesses--maybe even Healthy Choice. However, I think Ivanka Trump is the last person I would associate with microwave meals. I think Healthy Choice missed the boat on this one.

...on Today In Start-Up History: GM!:
19:36, September 16th, 2008: Only 40 miles on a single charge? That's it? What about the people that commute that one-way to work? Are they supposed to stop at a gas station and charge it so they can continue on to work? Sounds like a hassle I'm not interested in.

...on Rate The Start-Up: Tap'D NYC.:
18:12, September 3rd, 2008: No way. If they were distributing to Oregon, heck, I'd buy it, cause I have a husband who loves New York and would probably really think it's a sweet deal to be drinking New York water in Oregon. Seems pointless to not distribute to other parts of the country. Sounds like someone was drunk one night, needed a drink out of the tap, refilled his used Dasani water bottle with tap water and was like "EUREKA!"
I'm not falling for it.

...on Since When Does Fruit Qualify As Dessert Anyway?:
19:26, August 21st, 2008: Sounds like a pretty good business strategy to me. Buy the nectarine for a buck, sell it for eight.
You wouldn't find me paying for an eight dollar nectarine, though.

...on Whole Foods Goes Cheap. Stop Laughing.:
18:56, August 11th, 2008: You know what you're getting at Whole Foods -- unique, higher quality products. It's not a Winco or Walmart experience -- it's upper-class shopping.
Trying to make it affordable for the "average" person is a step in the right direction, but I'm just not sure how feasible that will really be, given its already established reputation for expensive goods.

...on Rate The Start-Up: Fish Pedicures:
18:59, July 22nd, 2008: First of all, I will not be paying $35 for any fish -- or anything for that matter -- to eat my dead skin cells. Nasty.

Second of all, the lady in the middle of this picture is enough to make me not want to get one of these. She looks like she is terrified of what she is witnessing.

...on Sleeping On The Airport Floor Just Got Nerdier.:
14:14, July 15th, 2008: I like the idea and can see a lot of people using it. It's affordable and beats having to hail a cab and pay for an overpriced hotel room.
Two points though:
1) Where are you supposed to put your carry on luggage? Certainly, you can't leave it outside of the tent, as someone might take it.
2) And seriously...why the construction zone orange color?

...on Celeb Business Model: 6126.:
19:37, July 14th, 2008: There is no way on God's green earth that I would pay $100 bucks for spandex--even if it had gold jewels embedded in them somewhere. Call me cheap, but my leggings, which are just as good as the next person's, cost me $8.90 at Forever 21.
Just because a celebrity "designed" a piece of fabric that fits snugly on legs, doesn't mean they are any better or creative. Sorry, Lindsay.

...on Retail Sales Are Up - At Wal-Mart.:
14:47, July 10th, 2008: With the insane price of gas, loss of jobs, and an overall higher cost of living, it's no surprise that cheap superstores like Wal-Mart are benefiting.

...on Minority Business Feature: Tanka Bars.:
19:19, June 10th, 2008: No and the combination of ingredients doesn't sound appetizing. Garlic, onion, cranberries (that right there says "no go" for me), then add buffalo? I think I'll stick with enjoying energy bars without the power and meat of a mammoth hairy beast.

...on Is Amazon's Kindle A Threat to Small Booksellers?:
19:55, June 2nd, 2008: I don't think the feel of a real book in your hand can ever be replaced. While electronic books are convenient and probably necessary for some, I for one, will never be able to give up the feel and smell of a book in my hands.
