What Caitlin has had to say...

...on Talking Baby Boosts Bottom Line.:
16:34, October 21st, 2008: I could do without the projectile "spit-up" at the end. Also, "Look Who's Talkin'" called. They want their gimmick back.

...on Social Marketing Gone Bad. :
16:49, October 20th, 2008: This reminds me of when Sprite used to send "hip" kids (who were really Sprite employees) to big urban parties to hold, drink, and talk about Sprite.

...on Nothing Like A Crazy Business Plan To Make You Feel Better About Yours.:
19:46, October 6th, 2008: How do you buy groceries if you live on a sea pod like that one? Not much room to grow your own. More importantly, how do you get in it in the first place?

...on Today In Start-Up History: GM!:
17:19, September 16th, 2008: Pretty nifty, but I wonder how apartment dwellers are supposed to charge their Volts. I also wonder what happens when you run out of juice on the freeway. Will tow trucks carry generators for stranded Volt owners who think they've got enough battery life to make it home? I'm not saying I think electric cars are a bad idea. I just hope they've got all the details in place so they avoid a PR nightmare that sets the electric car back another decade.

...on Whole Foods Goes Cheap. Stop Laughing.:
18:47, August 11th, 2008: They do sell my jam of choice for about 50 cents less than the local grocery store in my neighborhood, but their deli items are murder. I have a hard time accepting that the place that routinely charges me upwards of 10 bucks for vegetable stir-fry and rice is all of a sudden becoming "affordable." It ain't Trader Joe's.

...on Can Anyone Really Compete With The iPod?:
14:00, July 31st, 2008: If it has a better battery, is smaller than a regular (non-nano) iPod with more storage, is less breakable, can be engraved with my name or a clever phrase, and comes in purple, I'm sold. Otherwise, I'm hanging onto dear old Clementine.

(Like you didn't name your iPod)

...on Franchises Aren't Always A Sure Thing.:
13:59, June 17th, 2008: While in high school, I was a "Lil' Ice Cream Scooper" at one of the most successful Cold Stone locations in the country. However, this was in a desert city. People always want ice cream in a place where the temperature rarely drops below 75 degrees. We had a line out the door every night, no matter the season. In more varied climates, however, that won't fly. It comes as no surprise that the bottom finally dropped out of their business model.

...on Are You Getting A 3G?:
14:35, June 9th, 2008: Call me old-fashioned (or cheap), but I like my two-year-old $10 phone. It calls people, it plays fun ringtones, and it can send and receive text messages in a timely manner. I've always liked to have my phone, my camera, and my iPod separate. That way I can choose which objects I need on a given day. That, and I know too many people who have tragically lost or broken their iPhones shortly after purchase, and I'd rather not be one of them.

...on Starbucks Owns Circles, Stars, Sans Serif Font. Your Business Doesn't. :
13:20, May 28th, 2008: The really offensive thing is that Starbucks and RCRG are both home-grown Seattle institutions. Going after the livelihood of a do-it-yourself organization that has existed right under Starbucks' nose since 2004 is pretty low.
