Another week, another round of posts. Here's what happened on Brass Tacks this week:
-You've gotta give the makers of Scrabulous credit. While they made the seemingly retarded decision of launching a start-up that hinged on using copyrighted material (Scrabble), they had a contingency plan worked out in case the copyright holders hit them with a lawsuit—which is exactly what happened this week. While that would be enough to scare the pants of most start-ups and would prompt many to shutter their doors, Scrabulous had a back up game on tap that's just different enough [maybe] to ward off any lawsuits and to keep their customers.
-There are more than a few things you should ask yourself before you sit down to write your business plan. But if you're at a loss as to where to start, here are a handful of questions to get you thinking.
-The final verdict on Google non-competitor Cuil? It kinda sucks. Yes, we'll stop beating that dead horse now.
-If it seems like there's no relief at the pump despite that fact that the price of oil is dropping, that's because there isn't. No, it doesn't make sense to us either.
-We asked why CEOs get away with lying to the public. Our verdict: because they can.
