If you haven't heard already, at a fundraiser last Friday in Houston (where cameras were supposed to be off..whooops), President Bush announced that the entire problem with the economy, inflation, the credit crunch, and mortgage crisis is as simple as this: "Wall Street got drunk. He's got drunk, and now it's got a hangover."
While certainly Bush has probably chalked up many of his own slip-ups (at least in his earlier life) to a case of the brown bottle flu, does the metaphor in this context even make sense?

Interesting. Gore used the same metaphor on Meet the Press.
Is our official excuse for our economy really, "Hey, so, um...I was really drunk last night...."?
