Tools You Can Use: BizEquity.

Ever wondered how much your small business is worth? BizEquity, a new website premiering today at the Demo start-up conference, helps you [roughly] figure out your business' valuation. The site offers two types of valuations: a more general number that's based on a comparison to more than 10 million start-ups, which can be whittled down by area or industry type, or a custom valuation. For the custom valuation, you fill out a form with basic financial information about your company and the site spits out a detailed report on your approximate valuation. BizEquity also allows you to compare yourself to competitors, although the database only includes companies making less than $10 million in annual revenues. Best of all, their services—even the custom valuation—are totally free.

While the site is operated by the small business credit card company Advanta (translation: we're automatically suspicious, particularly since you're handing over financial info with the custom valuation), it seems like an easy, quick, and free way to get a rough sense of what your start-up's worth. And we never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Nike Inc BizEquity Value: $92,000. Might have a few kinks to work out.
