Tools You Can Use: AngelSoft

The Internet is full of charlatans, hackers, scam artists, spammers and a myriad of other people with questionable morals. Translation: we don't trust most sites on the web—let alone those purporting to offer services for free. Nonetheless, AngelSoft, a new-ish website purporting to connect entrepreneurs with investors, looks intriguing enough for us to put our suspicions (mostly) aside.

AngelSoft provides entrepreneurs access to a database of more than 400 early stage investment groups, including angels and venture capitalists, according to MarketWatch. While obviously the site doesn't guarantee an introduction to investors, let alone funding, what it does is help you find and research investors in your area. And all the investors on the site are members of accredited angel investment groups and VC firms, which means you'll be hooked up with legit investors, instead of someone who's more interested in stealing your cash than they are your cash flow. So far more than 11,000 entrepreneurs have signed up for the service, AngelSoft says.

As with any of these new untested websites, buyer beware. But this may be one database worth checking out:
