Today in Start-Up History: Velcro
It may not be Web 2.0 or the hybrid car, but on May 13, 1958 the Velcro trademark was registered. Just think, without this fanastic hook-and-loop fastener, Reebok high-tops wouldn't have been invented and game shows like this wouldn't exist:
