In the good news department, this week was light on flops and failures. In the bad news department, here's the few pushing up daisies:
-Muxtape, a "love-child of the Internet and 80s cassette mix tapes," was shut down this week by—you guessed it—the Recording Industry Association of America. The site apparently got in trouble because it didn't seek "authorization" to host or stream copies of the songs on the site. Despite that, their demise may only be temporary, with some industry attorneys saying they haven't done anything illegal. We're wondering whether this means we're going to see similar sites like 8Tracks on this list soon.
-As we reported earlier this week, online storage start-up Agami unexpectedly bit the dust on Monday. Its collapse was particularly surprising because the company had secured more than $45 million in VC funding just six months earlier. Yep, you read it right.
