This week in 1981, Microsoft, the software giant, added Inc. to its name, restructuring itself as an incorporated business in Washington State, where the company is still located today.
While that may have been 27 years ago, the company is still making news today. Literally. As we mentioned yesterday, Microsoft founder Bill Gates is retiring. AND—wait for it—TechCrunch is reporting that a potential Yahoo-Microsoft deal is back on. We'll believe it when we see it, but it would be a nice feather in Gates' cap before his departure on Friday.

-Oh yeah, we're bring in some entry-level graduates, farm some work out to Singapore, that's the usual deal.
-Standard operating procedure.
-Do they know this yet?
-No. No, of course not. We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an "incident" if you do it at the end of the week.
