Nothing Says "Locally-Grown" Like A 3G iPhone.

Today's release of the 3G iPhone is about so much MORE than just a mobile phone. It's also about "sustainability, affordable housing, energy security, and locally-grown food." Or so said the guy at the head of the line at the Apple Store in NYC today right after he tried to bum rush the doors as they opened. And oh yes, there's video.

While the clip below is fuzzy, you can still see the line of clapping, smiling Apple employees (orange shirts) welcoming weary fans into the store when suddenly a guy comes flying out of nowhere carrying what Consumerist says looks like a "metal/foil horse carrying an American flag." CNN says it's a basket of apples—but does it really matter?

Turns out the crazed basket-wielder—Daniel Bowman Simon—actually belongs (surprise!) to an environmental group called TheWhoFarm. Whatever plan he had to spread the word about sustainability, however, appears to have later gotten tossed by the wayside. He must have cared about the iPhone just the tinsiest bit because while guards initially hauled him away with his basket of apples/horse bust, he was later allowed in the store with two cops. What we want to know is whether he bought.
