Next On Google's List: World Domination.

One of the things we constantly dog new entrepreneurs for is doing too much, too fast. That's because trying to do ten things kind of well as opposed to doing one thing exceptionally is the kiss of death for many start-up businesses. Even older, established businesses have overextended their operations and found themselves in trouble. That's why we always stress that entrepreneurs keep their business plan simple.

But why is that Google seems exempt from the rule? While Google's not a new company by any stretch of the imagination—in fact, they just celebrated their 10th birthday last week—they're still relatively young as far as major corporations go. Yet they roll out new products and services at a clip that's enough to make even Steve Jobs blush. Today they announced a new partnership with NBC to expand into television advertising. Early last week they unveiled Chrome, a web browser that's intended to compete with Microsoft's Internet Explorer. And the word is that in the next few months they'll be releasing a new smart phone in collaboration with T-Mobile, the Dream with Google Android software. Beyond all that, they release a new tool in beta almost weekly. Oh, and they're also developing "water-based datacenters."

Typically this type of growth would scare the pants off most CEOs and shareholders. After all, no business—not even Google—can realistically do it all. Or can they? If any company could break the paradigm, it may be Google. They certainly have the capital and the brain power to get stuff done. But at the same time, isn't it possible that they're overestimating their might? Not to sound hysterical, but, hey, Rome fell.
