Entrepreneurs: How Do You Feel About The Economy?

With the Associated Press going all doom and gloom on us this morning, it got us thinking. While pundits and talking heads talk a lot about it being a bad time for entrepreneurs and small business, we want to hear from you - the entrepreneurs down in the trenches. If you own a small business, want to own a small business, or just want to chime in, let us know what your take is on the current economic situation.

As an entrepreneur, do you feel the situation is as dire for you as it's portrayed by the media, or do you instead see opportunity? Perhaps you're somewhere in the middle. Either way, we're looking for your inside opinion without sugar-coating. Tell us what you think in the comment box below.

The economy may be suffering, but as has been written about previously - when the economy is down, depending on the industry of the business, it can be the ideal time to launch. The expenses related with launching a new business, in some instances with some expenses, can be lower. Also, it is the best time for investment to be taking place. An injection of money into the economy from consumers is what will help turn things around and new businesses can help consumers want to spend their "getting softer by the day" US dollar.

I think it will depend on what you are in. Restaurant entrepreneurs and used SUV dealerships... bad. Debt consolidation, credit counseling... looking for VC for alternative fuel... good! I think even in the tough sectors people will spend money on great businesses. Y
ou just wont get away with being average, if you ever did.
