So that rumor we picked up earlier today about Google 86-ing free dinners on their campus? Turns out it might not be true. CNBC is reporting that Google says the story is completely false. But, the original perpetrator of the rumor—Valleywag—says that they didn't get the story wrong, they just had the details off. They're now reporting that Google's just killing free dinner in cafes frequented by non-tech Googlers.

Frankly we couldn't care less what goes down in their cafeterias (mainly because we can't get it in), but perhaps this means that the sky isn't actually falling. After all, if Google can still afford to give staffers free dinners, things can't be that bad!
