You've already got a perfectly fine mobile with an okay contract. Still—do you find yourself salivating over the mere idea of the new 3G iPhone? In case you haven't heard (ha), Steve Jobs is expected to unveil the new 3G at the Apple developer's conference in minutes. Although there's been wide speculation about what features the new iPhone will have, most of the details are still unclear.
So—given all this, do plan to purchase a 3G iPhone once they're released (while there's some talk that they'll be available immediately, there's no promise that they'll be on store shelves this week)? If so, tell us how Apple's lured you away from either your current mobile, or your year-old iPhone. If you're unconvinced by the 3G hype, we want to hear about that too. Please use the comments section below!
Addendum: Geek site TechCrunch is live blogging the developer's conference right now and is apparently so overrun with traffic that their site is down....

If Apple had AT&T donate 1% of all charges to nonprofits, like my current provider Credo Mobile does, I would seriously consider it. But otherwise, I'm happy staying where I'm at, :)

You're all cheap and old fashioned. If anyone needs me on July 11th, I'll be camped out in Pioneer Place.

I won't. Most of the features currently missing (like sending and receiving pictures, or copying and pasting text) can be added via software updates. The 3G thing is a hardware update. And while the added speed would be nice, it's not really worth the price. To me, anyway.
Spore, however, might be worth the price.

Call me old-fashioned (or cheap), but I like my two-year-old $10 phone. It calls people, it plays fun ringtones, and it can send and receive text messages in a timely manner. I've always liked to have my phone, my camera, and my iPod separate. That way I can choose which objects I need on a given day. That, and I know too many people who have tragically lost or broken their iPhones shortly after purchase, and I'd rather not be one of them.

If they make a semi-affordable upgrade deal from the iPhone I already have, then yes. I can't believe the first version wasn't 3G, kind of weak.
