Sure we know that the economy is going through a rough patch, and that prices are going up, while salaries and spending are going down. Nothing entrepreneurs can't handle right? Not so, says the Associated Press, who churned out quite possibly one of the most bizarre news stories ever this past weekend. (And yes, the superlatives are warranted in this case.)

The crux of the article? That everything is falling apart, and that even the enterprising, persevering American spirit is flagging. Oh, also the world is unraveling, and sports aren't even a safe haven because ballplayers use drugs.

While we'd love to quote the piece, the AP has this new policy whereby they attempt to sue bloggers who quote their coveted copy. So talk to us entrepreneurs. Is the AP on to something here, or is this a bunch of crazy?
